Breakaway Chiropractic & Wellness sits at 11550 Legacy Drive, Suite 480, on the western side of Frisco, minutes from the Dallas North Tollway and easy to reach from Stonebriar, Starwood, Phillips Creek Ranch, and Newman Village. Dr. Rakesh Lad has practiced in North Texas since 2008, and Dr. Hasheen Lad joined the profession in 2016.
Frisco has grown from a small town to one of the fastest-expanding cities in the country in about two decades, and the way people here get hurt reflects that. We treat a lot of two categories: corporate professionals who spend nine hours at a desk in the Legacy and Hall Park office corridors, and athletes, because Frisco may be the most sports-saturated suburb in Texas.
A city built around sports, and the injuries that come with it
The Star, Toyota Stadium, Riders Field, Comerica Center, and the Frisco Athletic Center are only the visible layer. Underneath is an enormous youth and club ecosystem, soccer, hockey, gymnastics, volleyball, baseball, and football running most nights of the week across the city.
That is our patient population. Dr. Hasheen has worked with FC Dallas, UNT Hockey, and competitive gymnasts and figure skaters. Dr. Rakesh has served as a team physician and holds a Kinesiology and Exercise Science degree. When a Frisco club soccer player comes in with a hamstring that keeps pulling or a young goalie with a shoulder that will not stay quiet, we have seen that exact presentation many times.
The other Frisco: corporate desks and long commutes
The corridor along the Tollway is dense with corporate headquarters and office parks. The pattern that walks through our door from those buildings is remarkably consistent: forward head posture, a thoracic spine that has stopped extending, tension headaches that start mid-afternoon, and a low back that hurts more from sitting than from anything they do at the gym.
We treat that with the same seriousness we treat an athletic injury, because functionally it is one, a repetitive load injury that happens to occur at 20 pounds of head weight over ten hours instead of all at once.
Families, from newborns up
Frisco is full of young families, and pediatric care is a significant part of our practice. We see infants for colic, torticollis, and feeding difficulty using fingertip-pressure technique with no twisting and no popping, and school-age kids for the posture problems that come with tablets and heavy backpacks.
Seema Lad, R.Ph., a registered pharmacist, certified diabetes educator, and functional nutritionist, rounds out what we can offer families, including medication and supplement review that almost no chiropractic office can provide in-house.
